Officer Position Information
Each officer will be receive a binder called a "Hand-me-Down" which will detail the procedures, progress and duties that the officer before them performed. Each "Hand-me-Down" also includes copies of the forms important to any Sigma Tau Delta member (Application, Merchandise, Info Brochure and Reimbursement Form), along with items relating to each officer individually.
President
Is in charge of the progression and organization of the club and its officers. Is the host of the weekly meetings, the main overseer to the contests/submissions, the end of the year literature magazine "Portfolio" and the Induction Ceremony. Must be able to step in and assist any officer at their position when necessary, keep in contact with staff and faculty, have a good report when speaking to groups of people and have a "big picture" outlook.
Vice President
Is in charge of admissions - keeping track of people who have applied and paid (will be in contact with the Treasurer). This position also includes organizing club fundraisers, the Convention trip in the Spring and stepping in for the President when needed.
Secretary
Will take notes and meeting minutes at every officer meeting and be the contact to the Advisors (Dr. Baker and Dr. Corley). Is also the main contact to English majors, minors and grads, as well as Sigma Members (specifically). This position also includes designing, compiling and distributing the club's Quarterly Newsletter. (A template can be supplied to the incoming officer).
Treasurer
Is in charge of handling money: deposits, transactions, etc. and should be organized in keeping a clear record of where all money goes. Main priority will be depositing membership dues and keeping track of who has paid. Also, the treasurer has the responsibility of attending CLASS Council meetings every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month throughout the year. This is the club's contact to the rest of the University.
Historian
Must be available to attend all meetings, events and related outings to Sigma Tau Delta in order to record these events via pictures. These pictures will be placed in a scrapbook - designed by the Historian (which can be done with online programs or website) - and will be presented at the end of the year Induction Ceremony.
Public Relations
Will be in charge of promoting Sigma Tau Delta meetings, events, contests, outings, etc. Should have some skill with designing posters and be able to post them around the English Department Building. This position also includes upkeep on the Bulletin Board found at the top of the stairs in building 24.
Webmaster
Will be in charge of updating the website on meetings, events, contests, outings, etc. via the Google Calendar and upcoming event announcements. This website was created and is updated using the Google program Weebly - a very simple and straightforward program. Tutorial of how to manage site will be given to the incoming officer by the current Webmaster.
